Fees
In accordance with the ethical rules of the legal profession, fees are freely agreed and negotiated between the client and their counsel.
“Fees take into account, in accordance with professional practice, the client's financial circumstances, the difficulty of the case, the expenses incurred by the lawyer, the lawyer's reputation, and the work performed.”
Translation of Article 10, Law of 31 December 1971 of the French legal profession
A one-hour legal consultation allows you to review your situation, obtain answers to your questions, and identify the steps to be taken. This appointment is billed at €100 excluding tax (€120 including tax), unless you are already receiving legal aid for a procedure, or if the meeting sole purpose is to open the file within the practice.
If, following the first meeting, a file is opened, a fee agreement is systematically negotiated with the client, who is thus informed of the exact cost of the procedure before its initiation.
Fees fixing
This fee agreement is drawn up in compliance with the ethical obligations of the profession, taking into account the time devoted to the case, research work, as well as the nature and complexity of the matter.
Depending on the nature of the case, the lawyer's fees may be determined in three different ways: a flat fee, hourly billing, and/or based on the outcome of the case.
The firm favours flat fees — a fixed amount payable in instalments throughout the procedure — allowing you to have clear visibility over the overall cost of the case.
In rarer situations, and depending on the complexity of the case, fees may be billed at an hourly rate of €150 excluding tax (€180 including tax).
In some cases, you may benefit from legal protection insurance (home, automobile, banking, or specific coverage), which may cover all or part of the lawyer's fees. This possibility will be discussed during the initial consultation.
The practice also accepts to work under legal aid, enabling clients with limited financial means to access quality legal advice and pursue legal action.
